Pershore Wellbeing Hub opens
A new wellbeing hub has opened its doors in Pershore to help people in the area lead healthier and happier lives. The Pershore Wellbeing Hub, based at 4 High Street, is an informal space where everyone can access support on a range of issues from a friendly team of trained volunteers. Support on offer includes life-coaching in everything from problems at work and rearing children to caring for elderly relatives. Referral to NHS Social Prescribers and other wellbeing team professionals will be available. Volunteers will also be able to signpost people to other existing services within the local area such as clubs and groups via a searchable database available on the hub’s website. There is a wealth of activities to join. The project has come out of the Pershore Town Plan and led by local residents with support from Pershore Town Council and Wychavon District Council. Check out the Wellbeing Hub website for more information. |
Painting to Music online – it’s amazing what you can do in a few minutes!
We have just had the last of the Painting to Music on Zoom sessions in partnership with Ourside Youth Centre in Evesham. The photo is missing a few of our online artists but hopefully it gives a sense of the mood of the group! The sessions were very thought provoking and we look forward to sharing more of the work and insights with you soon. |
Booking now open for Creating Space Wellbeing Studio – Summer Term
This is a group for adults to improve their mental health and wellbeing through meeting others and doing something creative. Anyone can book a place who consider themselves to in need: this could include individuals who have a specific mental health need, individuals in supported living or anybody who feels isolated or suffers low mood or depression/anxiety. These sessions are free of charge thanks to grant funding so places are limited. This is a supported creative space to try out new materials, techniques and meet new people. Facilitated by a qualified Art Therapist, the group will all work independently on their own projects whilst being supported and inspired by each other. For more information check out the Creating Space website. |
Beachcombing in Pershore
Sea glass artist, Helen Carlisle, has joined a local consortium of crafters to bring a pop-up craft market to Pershore. Despite being so far away from the coast, Helen uses sea glass, driftwood and other finds in her work and much of her material is collected from the Durham Heritage Coast, an area rich in coastal history. You can see examples of her beautiful art at Pershore Crafters in Pershore Market or through her Facebook and Instagram. |
