The Cotswolds’ best little flower and produce show will be held in Stow on the Wold on Saturday, August 28th.

The Spring Gardens Allotment Association’s annual Flower and Produce Show will be staged at St Edward’s Hall in the town’s square.

There are classes for flower growers and floral art, vegetables and home preserves and baking.

The show attracts entries from the town of Stow and surrounding villages and is popular with townspeople and tourists.

Allotment association chairman, Chris Small said: ‘We’re only a small show but we’re a big hit with everyone.  It’s the highlight of the year for growers in Stow and everyone is looking forward to the day.’

A cool, wet spring, a July heatwave and a cloudy August have all presented a challenge for allotment growers this year.

Chris said: ‘Conditions haven’t been ideal this year so it will be interesting to see what our growers have been able to produce in this mixed weather summer.’

The show is open to everyone and the association welcomes new and novice exhibitors.

Entries should be at St Edward’s Hall between 8.30 and 10.30am, judging is at 12.30 and the doors open to the public at 1pm.  All details and the show schedule can be found at
