Join Meningitis Now for A Christmas Concert
Written by Robb Eden on 9th November 2021
GLOUCESTERSHIRE-BASED charity Meningitis Now is again holding its annual Christmas Celebration Concert at Gloucester Cathedral on Thursday 2nd December – and everyone is invited.
The musical celebration is one of the most popular events in the charity’s calendar, offering traditional Christmas carols and festive musical entertainment in a wonderful and moving setting.
Last year’s event was unable to go ahead because of the pandemic although the charity did stream a guest-free event from the cathedral. But this year the doors will be open to all-comers and the charity is hoping supporters from near and far will join them on the evening.
This year’s event sees performances from Gloucester Gangshow, Highnam Academy, Rock Choir and Danceworks Cheltenham.
The cathedral will also feature a Christmas tree adorned with hundreds of white ribbons, each one in remembrance of a loved one lost to meningitis.
Doors open at 7pm for a 7.30pm start. Tickets are now on sale from the charity’s website at https://www.meningitisnow.org or by phoning 01453 768000 and cost £8 for side aisle seats and £12 in the nave. Tickets include entry to the concert and a programme.
All proceeds from the concert help to fund preventative research, raise awareness and support those affected by the disease through Meningitis Now’s unique range of services.
“Meningitis Now is dependent on voluntary donations to continue our lifesaving and life-changing work.
If you would like to donate towards Meningitis Now’s ongoing work but are unable to attend the concert you can do so through the website at www.meningitisnow.org
